A rare three-sport captain, Sharon Sexton, now the associate athletic director at Lewis & Clark College (Oregon), was to Barnstable High School athletics in the early 1990s perhaps its shining model of athletic accomplishment.

Moreover, her efforts and early record-setting pace on the BHS volleyball court, could be deemed as trend-setting for all of Massachusetts high school athletics..
