Note: This was the first year in Barnstable High School football history that the offense was run under a fast-paced "Pro-set." Rather than relying on its old style of smashmouth football, Barnstable went to the air, with varying but often successful results. It should also be noted that the assassination of President John F. Kennedy weighed heavily upon the emotions of BHS student-athletes, in particular, the football and hockey teams; President Kennedy, just one year earlier, had made stops to watch both play and was a local favorite of the athletes.
