Head Coach Don Dorr capped his coaching career at Barnstable High School with the Red Raiders' first league championship in a decade. A stellar linebacker at Syracuse University in the late 1960s, Coach Dorr went on to help launch the Plymouth South High School varsity football program before retiring from coaching in 1997. Dorr is a graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School where he led its first varsity football team to an undefeated season in his senior year as its quarterback. He was a four-sport letterman at ORR in football, basketball, baseball and track & field. Dorr also played for the Wareham Gatemen in the Cape Cod Baseball League in 1965 and 1966. Dorr was the top-ranked high school quarterback in the region when he attended Old Rochester Regional and he led the Bulldogs to its first-ever undefeated season. He also capped his high school basketball career as a 1,000-point scorer. His baseball exploits earned him a vaunted spot on the Wareham Gatemen in the Cape Cod Baseball League while he was still in high school. Receiving a full athletic scholarship to Syracuse, Dorr was turned into a vicious, hard-hitting linebacker from his usual spot at quarterback and he was a three-time letterman for the Orangeman. - S.M.
