Arguably one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever don the Red & White of Barnstable High School, Delaney was nearly overlooked his sophmore year (1969) at BHS before getting a chance at the starting QB slot. Once given a shot, Delaney never looked back and set many of the modern-day passing standards at the BHS Red Raider helm.

    A three-sport standout at BHS, Delaney starred in the triple jump, broad jump and 880 for Hal Cornforth's three consecutive, undefeated, Capeway Conference spring track & field teams from 1969-1972, played on the greatest basketball team in school history (24-1, Class C Champions, 1971) and played was instrumental in changing the face of the BHS gridiron offensive scheme with an almost uncanny passing ability.

    His football prowess and keen intellect propelled him to stardom at the QB helm at Columbia University in New York, where he eventually ended up co-captain his senior year. A three-year-starter in college.
