Ryan Johnson was an exceptional athlete during his four years as a Red Raider and he was no less exceptional as a collegiate wide receiver at Hartwick College from 1998-2001.

    After graduation from BHS in 1997, Johnson went on to do a post-graduate year at New Hampton Prep where he achieved many receiving milestones, but it was at Hartwick College that Johnson truly made his mark.

    Named to three collegiate All-American teams his senior year at Hartwick (2001), Johnson finished with 168 career receptions for 3,337 yards and 44 touchdowns. He holds the school record in all three categories.

    He is also the first-ever Hartwick College athlete to be named to three consensus All-American teams. he led the Hawks to four straight winning seasons and three trips to the ECAC Northwest Championship game. His school went 29-11 during his four seasons.

    During his senior year, Johnson had 67 receptions for 1,217 yards and 20 touchdowns as the Hawks went 7-4. He finished the season ranked 8th nationally in receiving yards per game (119.8) and 11th in scoring (120 points). In his senior year, Johnson was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Week twice.

    Following his senior year, Johnson was named the ECAC Division III Northwest Player of the Year.

    Johnson played varsity football, basketball and baseball at Barnstable High School from the fall of 1993 until his graduation in the spring of 1997.

    He was captain of the 1996-1997 BHS varsity basketball team. he was also the starting centerfielder on the 1994 Cape Cod Senior Babe Ruth All-Star Team that hosted the New England Regionals at Whitehouse Field in Harwich.
