Steve Goveia's tenure as BHS Head Football Coach may have been

a short one, but for the next two decades he would serve as

Barnstable High School's athletic director, ushering in a new era

of excellence in athletics in Barnstable. Goveia came to barnstable from Provincetown, his hometown, where he excelled and starred as a three-sport athlete in Provincetown's athletic heydays in the early 1960s.
