BIO

Krista Chamberlain’s characteristic happy-go-lucky demeanor was the antithesis of her fierce competitiveness once she took the court or stepped onto the playing field.

As a four-year tennis and three-year field hockey veteran of the Red & White varsity, Chamberlain garnered the respect and admiration of her teammates and coaches but most assuredly she earned the respect of her opponents.

On the tennis court, she amassed an impresive, 64-6 win-loss record, never losing a match to an on-Cape opponent, nevermind a set. Her crowning achievement came during the close of her senior campaign when she staged an upset of her longtime foe from Bishop Feehan during the SMC I state tennis semifinal. Clearly the underdog heading into the match, Chamberlain bore down and captured victory from what appeared to be certain defeat.

On the field hockey tarmac, Chamberlain was a veritable juggernaut, scoring or assisting on each of her team’s goals during her senior season (1987). For her efforts, Chamberlain was named to the SMC I All-Star Team in both her junior and senior seasons. She was inducted into the BHS Hall of Fame in 2009.
