In a time when most student-athletes focus on a single sport, Ryan was the exception playing football, basketball and baseball throughout all four years of high school. During his athletic career, Ryan earned 7 varsity letters and he could proudly say that he never lost a game to Falmouth.

As a sophomore Sifflard made an immediate impact on the football field earning both playing time and a starting position on the varsity. He showed his versatility playing guard, tackle and even tight end that season for the Red Raiders.
As a junior, the 6’2″, 255 pound Sifflard rarely left the field and never missed a game, starting both ways while playing with an injured knee that ended up requiring surgery. He was named to the 2001 All-Cape & Islands Team and was a 2001 OCL All-League 1st Team lineman.

As a senior, Ryan was elected captain, started both ways as an offensive guard and defensive tackle and he led the team in tackles. Ryan was named to the 2002 All-Cape & Islands Team and the 2002 OCL All-League 1st Team, as well as being named to the 2002 All-Eastern Mass. 1st Team and the 2003 Massachusetts Shriners game.

Ryan solidified the Red Raiders undefeated league record and OCL championship when he chased down and sacked the Marshfield quarterback on 4th down to capture back the ball, the win and the league championship.

As a basketball player, Ryan earned two varsity letters and played both small forward and shooting guard. He was a force inside on the boards, but could easily transition outside to utilize his long-range shooting touch.

Ryan again showed his athletic versatility as a baseball player, earning playing time as a sophomore and two varsity letters his junior and senior years. Ryan always had three gloves in his bag, as could adeptly move from catcher, to third base or first base, while anchoring the heart of the line-up hitting for both power and high average.

An honor roll student though out high school, Ryan chose to serve his country and accepted an appointment to the United States Coast Guard Academy. There he played football all four years. As a senior Ryan was not only featured on the cover of the Coast Guard Academy football program, but earned the respect of the whole league when he was named the 2006 New England Football Conference Offensive Lineman of the Year. He was also recognized as an 2006 NCAA Division III All-East, Honorable Mention, Offensive Guard, 2006 All-New England Football Conference, 1st Team, 2006 All-New England, 1st Team and the Coast Guard Academy Lineman of the Year award. He was inducted into the BHS Athletic Hall of Fame, Nov. 24, 2012
