Barnstable High School Football 1988
Historical Notes: Senior star receiver Jeremy Gobeil, who would later go on to set new receiving records as a captain at Northeastern, suffered a broken leg versus Attleboro, thus ending his senior year in Red & White. Teammate Jordan Sullivan picked up the slack, though, and helped BHS salvage its pride through the remainder of its autumn slate.
Sullivan collected 201 yards rushing on Thanksgiving Day at home versus Falmouth, but his last-second field goal to go for the win went wide and the Red Raiders could not salvage a .500 campaign. The Nov. 24, 1988 game versus Falmouth was widely celebrated as the 100th time the Red Raiders had met the Clippers, but the simple fact was that the true 100th meeting between the two teams occurred in 1984.
